The Otto H. York Department of Chemical, Biological & Pharmaceutical Engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or higher level, with expertise in the general area of chemical engineering. Although there are no restrictions on specific research areas for candidates, preference will be given to research interests that will complement and strengthen NJIT's participation in the NSF Engineering Research Center on Structured Organic Particulate Systems, which focuses on developing a model-predictive integrated framework for systemactically designing materials, structures, and processes used to manufacture the next generation of active substance delivery systems for pharmaceutical, food and agro-chemical industries.
The Department has 18 full-time faculty members and enrolls over 200 undergraduate students as well as 150 graduate students in chemical engineering and pharmaceutical engineering. The Department is home to several inter-disciplinary research centers focused on nanotechnologies, engineered particulates, energetic materials, membrane separations and polymer processing; and is a partner in newly established NSF-Engineering Research Center (ERC) in Structured Organic Particulate Systems (SOPS). Last year, departmental research expenditure was over $4.0 Million.
Applicants should have an earned Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or related disciplines and a demonstrated record of cross-disciplinary research. The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses and develop a world-class research program funded by federal and industrial sources, including pharmaceutical companies.
Please apply at https://njit.jobs and use posting #0600351. Please include an application with a detailed CV, names of at least four references, and a personal statement of research and teaching interests. The position will remain open until filled.
