Research Interests

Theory:  Using statistical mechanics to study properties of soft condensed matter such as polymer and liquid crystal with particular interests in self-assembled structures and mesophase transitions.

Experiment:  Developing new technologies with soft matter.

  • Phospholipid membranes and unilamellar vesicles.
  • Amphiphilic properties of room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) and polymer synthesis
  • Microencapsulation of fine particles with polymers in supercritical CO2
