About Me

Dr. Gennady Gor came to NJIT from the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, where he was a National Research Council research associate. Dr. Gor´s expertise is modeling materials on atomistic or molecular level. His main scientific interests are modeling properties of porous materials ranging from nanoporous adsorbents and catalysts to polymer membranes and geological materials, such as coal and shale. Dr. Gor´s research has been published in more than 30 papers in peer-reviewed journals, including Langmuir, Carbon, Applied Physics Letters and many others.

Research Interests

Professor Gennady Gor and his group focus on porous materials and confined fluids, ranging from nanoporous adsorbents and polymer membranes to geological materials, like coal and shale. We use various modeling techniques to represent phenomena at the nanoscale: Monte Carlo simulations, molecular dynamics, density functional theory, etc.

  • Effects of Electrolyte Solvents on Soft Components of Secondary Batteries
  • Unveiling the Mechanism of Restructuring of Soot Nanoparticles: Insight from Molecular Modeling
  • Chemomechanical Effects on the Zeolite Membrane Permeation
  • Thermodynamic and Transport Properties of Nanoconfined Hydrocarbons and Carbon Dioxide
